State Oppression and Intelligence Agencies’ Policies Cannot Deter Baloch Mothers and Sisters from Their Struggle
The Baloch mothers are determined to fight until the last moment for the safe recovery of their loved ones. For the past four days, the families of the forcibly disappeared have been staging a peaceful sit-in at Hub Bhawani, demanding justice. Instead of addressing their concerns and making efforts to recover their missing family members, the authorities responded with force.
Hub police and other state institutions used violent means to break the peaceful protest, subjecting Seema Baloch, Mazib Baloch, and other activists to brutal assault before unlawfully detaining them. Their whereabouts remain unknown, and no information has been provided about their condition.
In response to this brutal crackdown, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (Baloch Solidarity Committee) Lasbela Region has announced a complete shutter-down strike in Hub on Monday, March 3. We urge the local business community to support this strike and stand in solidarity with the victims’ families by joining the protest at Hub Bhawani.
We call for the immediate release of Baloch missing persons and demand an end to enforced disappearances.
