
London, 20 July 2025 – A peaceful demonstration was held yesterday outside 10 Downing Street to mark five years since the enforced disappearance of Mir Taj Muhammad Sarparah, and to demand the release of all Baloch missing persons and BYC. The protest was led by Salia Marri, the wife of Mir Taj Muhammad Sarparah, who was forcibly disappeared on 19 July 2020 from Karachi, by Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. His fate and whereabouts remain unknown to this day.
Speaking at the protest, Salia Marri made an emotional appeal to the international community and human rights organizations to take urgent action.
“It’s been five years since my husband was forcibly disappeared by ISI. To this day his fate and whereabouts remain unknown. I call upon all individuals to stand with us in solidarity as we demand his safe release and justice for all Baloch missing persons,” she said.
The protest drew support from a broad coalition of political and human rights activists. Participants included the Khan of Kalat, members of FBM, BRP, and BNP, as well as Sohail Abro, Chairman of the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM); Said Alam, leader of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM); Abdul Wakil Sulamal; Dr. Waris Waziri; Abdullah Baloch; Rahim Bandoui of the Central Council of Balochistan People’s Party, and supporters from Gilgit and Balochistan.
The protest highlighted the ongoing crisis of enforced disappearances in Balochistan and called for immediate international intervention to hold perpetrators accountable and immediate release of Mir Raj Muhammad Sarparah and all baloch missing persons.
