London, 22 February 2025 — A significant book launch ceremony took place today for Altaf Hussain’s latest publication, Balochistan Issue… in the Light of History (مسئلہ بلوچستان … تاریخ کے آئینے میں).

The event was attended by notable figures, with Khan of Kalat, Mir Suleman Dawood Jan Ahmedzai, as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honor included Sohail Abro (Chairman, Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement – JSFM), Aomar Karim (Baloch Human Rights Activist), Shahid Baloch (Human Rights Activist), and Kamran Jatoi (Member, World Sindhi Congress).

In his address, the Khan of Kalat highlighted the ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan, emphasizing the historic struggle for independence and the atrocities committed by the Pakistani state. He stated, “It is time for Pakistan to realize that through military operations, killing innocent Baloch people, and committing human rights abuses, you will never defeat the Baloch nation.”

Altaf Hussain, leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), provided a detailed analysis of Balochistan’s forced occupation by Pakistan in 1948. He condemned state-led military operations, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings. He also pointed out that oppression is not limited to Balochistan but extends to MQM workers and the Muhajir community, stating, “Pakistan is not only killing Baloch people but also MQM workers.” He urged Baloch and Muhajir communities to unite in their fight for justice and self-determination.

The event also featured speeches by Mustafa Azizabadi and Arshad Hussain Bai, who condemned Pakistan’s actions in Balochistan. They called for an end to state brutality and urged the international community to intervene.

As the ceremony concluded, attendees reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Baloch struggle for independence and emphasized the need for global awareness of Pakistan’s human rights violations. The launch of Balochistan Issue… in the Light of History serves as a powerful reminder of the unresolved conflict in Balochistan and the resilience of its people.
