London: 14 August is a day of slavery for the Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtun, Saraiki, Kashmiri and Gilgit-Baltistani nations occupied by Pakistan. This message was given by Sohail Abro, Chairman of the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM), who declared 14 August 2026 a Black Day. He said that across Sindh, JSFM workers would wear black armbands and hoist black flags at intersections on 14 August 2026. They would observe Black Day and record their protest. Pakistan was created on 14 August 1947 based on the Two-Nation Theory, which failed following the independence of Bangladesh in 1971. He said that: “There was no Pakistan before 1947, whereas Sindh has been an independent land for thousands of years. The establishment of Pakistan on 14 August was a mistake of history and a dark day for humanity, because historical nations such as the Sindhi, Baloch, Saraiki, Gilgit-Baltistani, Kashmiri and Pashtun nations were enslaved by this state and its Punjabi military establishment, which has continuously oppressed the people of the region economically, politically and geographically. Their slavery continues today.” Sohail Abro said: “Our lands, national resources and homeland are being occupied by the Punjabi army at gunpoint. The right to self-determination and freedom is our birthright, and one day we will achieve freedom from the state of Pakistan.” He further said that as 14 August approaches, Pakistani state agencies continue to raid the homes of pro-independence political workers in Sindh, while the abduction and enforced disappearance of political workers continues across Sindh. Sohail Abro appeal to international organizations, the United Nations, Amnesty International and human rights organizations to support our cause for freedom.
