Indus WorldNews (Voice of Indus Nations – Special Report, 15 February 2025)
The Sindhi nation is facing an existential crisis as the Punjab establishment continues its unlawful exploitation of Sindh’s natural resources. The illegal construction of six canals on the Indus River threatens to devastate Sindh’s agriculture, economy, and environment. Coupled with corporate farming under Pakistan’s military, forced demographic changes, and political oppression, the Sindhi people are fighting an intensified battle for their survival.
The Struggle for Sindh’s Survival
For decades, the people of Sindh have resisted attempts to deprive them of their water, land, and rights. The latest move to construct six canals from the Indus River is part of a deliberate strategy to control Sindh’s water supply and cripple its agricultural economy. This is not merely an environmental issue; it is an attack on Sindh’s economic lifeline, historical identity, and national sovereignty.
In response, Sindhi nationalist parties and organizations have launched a series of mass protests and resistance marches across Sindh. These protests, led by various factions of the Jeay Sindh movement, aim to mobilize the Sindhi people against these injustices and bring international attention to their cause.

JSFM & Sindhi Nationalist Leaders Condemn Indus Water Theft

JSFM leaders have declared that the struggle for Sindh’s water is the struggle for Sindh’s survival and have urged all Sindhis to stand united against these policies.

“We appeal to the international community to take urgent notice.”
The Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM) has urged the United Nations, environmental organizations, human rights groups, and international media to take immediate notice of Sindh’s ongoing environmental crisis. The illegal canals on the Indus River are not just a violation of Sindh’s rights but also a serious ecological disaster that will have long-term consequences for the region.
