

Labour MP, John McDonnell has expressed concerns in the UK parliament regarding the recent long march which has gained limelight worldwide. House expresses its admiration for the courage displayed by the women leading the Long March to Islamabad from across Balochistan to raise awareness of the disappearances, abductions and killings associated with the operations of Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department. It also stated that there have been violent attacks on the marching protesters by the Police; and calls upon the Government to raise its concerns about the violation of fundamental human rights against the people of Balochistan with the Pakistani government.

It is rare when issues of Baloch are highlighted in foreign countries. Various Baloch leaders and activists including Hakeem Baloch, journalist at the Balochistan Post have expressed their gratitude towards MP McDonnell for bringing to light the atrocities by Pakistan agencies upon the innocent Baloch. It becomes significant to note that the march has become a testimony of Baloch strife as women and children have took to roads in large numbers
